Musicians welcome!
I'm hosting an all-comers acoustic music jam on my front porch this summer - Tuesday evenings from 5.30 pm - 6.30 pm. The "house" band is me (guitar), piano, and bass so far. Looking for a drummer (preferably on a cahon or micro - like tiny! - kit) to fill out the basic group.
We then are hoping to find simpatico folks who want to join us and see what happens. Melody instruments preferred - flute, clarinet, trumpet, sax, harmonica, melodica, accordion, fiddle, etc. If you play guitar or sing it might work so long as you are sensitive to others - no place for Divas! All skill levels are welcome (except rank beginners, sorry).
Mostly we play jazz and American Songbook tunes but would be open to other stuff too. Bring the music you love. Ability to read is helpful but not required. Desire to improvise also a plus. Our focus is on social music-making and having a laugh - and learning while we do it. Mistakes are allowed!
Covid rules - sorry, but vaccinated folks only (with boosters even better). We will be outside but in close proximity so caution is the word. Stay safe out there!
I can provide music and leadership but would be happy to share any of that too. OK, enough said. Drop me a line if you are interested in coming (please), or just show up and see what happens.
21 Loomis Street (Big red house on the corner) - Front Porch!
5.30 - 6.30 pm. See you there.
Cheers, Rollin.
