Memorial Day is Monday March 30, a day to remember the women and men of our armed services who gave their lives so we can enjoy our freedom. The Hardwick American Legion annually holds many ceremonies on this day starting with a march at 9:00am from Hardwick Elementary School to the bridge on N. Main St just before Hardwick Post #7.

A wreath ceremony is conducted to honor those who served and can no longer serve as they have made their way onto post everlasting. Members & participants then continue on to memorial park for a shorter service in remembrance of these brave lives lost, and this is followed by a procession of graveside services to four area cemeteries.

The entire community is invited to attend these activities all or in part, although there will be no floats, parades, or festivities as these are performed to honor the sacrifice of our heroes. We ask that everyone come to support the participants who give up their day of parties, BBQs & celebrations & pay tribute to our fallen heroes who sacrificed everything & cannot "celebrate" Memorial day as many of us do!

The last few years have been hard on our American Legion family with the deaths of many of our members including several of our Commanders who continued to serve in their community. Please come out and show the families of these heroes that they will always be remembered for their sacrifice for your freedom to enjoy that BBQ, family vacation, extra day off from work, etc.

Memorial Day is a day of remembrance…LEST WE FORGET!
