The Greensboro Free Library book club will meet next Thursday, May 26th, at 7:00 p.m. over Zoom to discuss Teresa Mare's study of migrant workers in Vermont dairy farms, titled "Life on the Other Border: Farmworkers and Food Justice in Vermont." The book looks into the lives of the 1,000+ migrants who work seasonally or year-round, often remaining on the farms and out of view in order to avoid authorities. The library's 10 copies from a discussion set have all been checked out, but we should have a few copies available by next Tuesday if you'd like to review the book and join the discussion. Email me if you'd like to be on our Book Club mailing list to receive reminders of upcoming book selections and the discussion link. Starting in June, we will host the meetings in hybrid format so that patrons can attend in person at the library or Zoom in from home.
