Chess is coming to Derry - Saturdays at 11AM - This Saturday, 5/21 will be the first meet-up.

We want to provide a space for both those who already love the game of chess and those who would like to learn to come together and enjoy this wonderful game!

This program is intended to be a FUN experience for ALL. We have started a collection of chess books and DVDs and will gladly accept donations to add to our resource collection. We have already received donations of 6 tournament style chess sets, a sturdy picnic table to play on in the garden, and a game clock. If you have your own chess set, please bring it with you so we do not run out while we are still in our collection phase.

We will start off by planning a series of Saturday programs and will expand as interest and resources allow. Will this be a fun weekend library program? Will it turn into an official club? There are MANY ways to enjoy the game of chess, let's explore them together!
