This Friday brings a fun opportunity to support LOCAL. Yup, giving a huge shout out to all things local:)
The Greater Falls Farmers' Market will open for the season on June 17th at the Hetty Green Park in beautiful Bellows Falls. But, right now, we need to raise the funds for our operating costs. What better way to raise up those funds than a Block Party?
Please consider joining us from 5-8pm this Friday, May 20th, at the Hetty Green Park for our Block Party celebration of local and community.
The Farmers' Market planning team got some pretty amazing food for a delicious BBQ. Spring-Rock Farm has donated wagyu beef patties and Dylan of Grandview Gourmet is baking up the buns for these burgers. Lisai's has donated hot dogs and buns. These will all be cooked up by Nate of North Wind Farm and Dylan of Grandview Gourmet on the Cota & Cota grill. John, of Leslie's Tavern, is taking Eventide View farm Bekana Cabbage and making an Asian Cole Slaw for a side dish. Um, yum! I'm excited for amazing food.
Local band, Intercept, will show up to entertain folks as we enjoy an evening of local food and support of our community Farmers' Market. A plant sale, 50/50 Raffle, and Raffle of lots of local products and gift certificates will be happening, too. Some of the raffles items available will be: $25 gift certificate The Threaded Trunk, $50 gift certificate Anastasia's Closet, $25 gift certificate to The Rock Shop, Art from local artist Candace Jensen, Village Square Booksellers gift certificate, Halladay's gift certificates, Farm Breakfast from North Wind Farm, Harlow Farmstand gift certificate and more. If you would like to donate something for the raffle, please let me know.
Looking at the weather forecast, it looks like we are going to have the perfect weather for sitting in the park, enjoying a BBQ, and creating community. I am greatly looking forward to seeing those of you who are able to make it at the park. And, please forward along this invitation to anyone that you would like to invite, too.
