The Randolph Singers invite you to a concert we have prepared to honor two people who were instrumental in making our community chorus a Randolph cultural institution: Dick Drysdale and Jean Montgomery.
Dick started out as in an actor in the early musical theater days, continued as a singer and then became our director, a position he held for several decades. Jean served as accompanist extraordinaire, also for decades!
Sunday afternoon's program opens with a collection of spirituals to stir, comfort and heal. After intermission, Jean's daughter Susan Montgomery-Grout, who is the Singer's present-day accompanist, will perform two Rachmaninoff preludes as a tribute to her mother.
The concert will continue with a selection of pieces by composers from the traditional choral repertoire beloved by Dick, including Schubert, Handel, Haydn and Mendelssohn.
The Singer's long-standing tradition does not call for ticket sales, but to accept free-will donations at the door.
