A Message from West Windsor Recreational Stakeholders

We are all looking forward to the summer. For many of us, this means getting out on the trails or joining one of the organized events taking place on the mountain or around town. For others, it may be a time for enjoying simple pleasures like a quiet afternoon in the back yard. We all know there is a lot of recreational activity within our community, but only six events, which are spread out over five months, involve a large number of participants. These events are important fundraisers and help sustain our organizations. However, we limit them intentionally out of respect for the community and our volunteers. Our goal is to find a balance so that everyone may enjoy all our area has to offer.

This is where you come in. We would appreciate your input on what is working well and where we could make improvements. We will be holding a community forum on Sunday May 22nd at 3PM at the Ascutney Outdoors Center to discuss these important topics. We hope you will join us.

We continue our efforts to make recreational activities better for everyone. As an example, we are starting an educational initiative to encourage trail etiquette, such as how a biker or hiker should act when approaching a horse and rider, interaction with traffic on gravel roads, and the importance of respecting other's property.

We are lucky to live in such an amazing place and look forward to all working together to keep that as our highest priority.
Thank you for your support.
