Public ZBA Meeting May 23

Past event

There will be a Public Meeting of the Lincoln Zoning Board of Adjustment on Monday, May 23rd at Burnham Hall to consider recent appeals to permits granted for two projects, as follows:

6:00-7:30:
The ZBA will hear the appeal made by a number of individuals regarding the approval of a permit granted to Norman Bicknell to build a ~1400 sq. ft. building on the Bicknell property at ~2300' elevation on the side of Mt. Abe (the town plan seeks to limit development above 1800' to protect sensitive views and natural resources). This site is visible from many locations in Lincoln. The delayed appeal was based on the fact that the Z sign was not posted on a public right-of-way. All those interested in this issue are encouraged to attend, and any who are directly affected by the decision are encouraged to testify.

8:00-9:30:
The ZBA will hear the appeal made by a number of individuals regarding the approval of a permit granted to Kyle Clark of Orchard Rd. to build an airstrip. The appeal was based on the fact that this permit was granted without notification of abutters, public input, or State wetlands studies. All those interested in this issue are encouraged to attend, and any who are directly affected by the decision are encouraged to testify.

The Town of Lincoln will be represented by attorney Jim Carroll, who will guide the ZBA through the process of this hearing. There will be a Zoom link provided with the agenda, which can be accessed at https://lincolnvermont.org/zba. The 2018 town plan is available at https://lincolnvermont.org/vertical/Sites/%7B53E9A1A8-33C4-4381-8550-24F9124297B8%7D/uploads[...]pdf

Both of these projects will have a significant impact on our town. They will be finalized before the Selectboard's reconfiguration of the committees that will tackle such issues in the future. Hope to see you at the meeting on May 23rd!
