Finding the Sacred in Suffering" is offered by Dr. Jeanette O'Conor, Director of Maya.
This mini workshop is designed to move you through a deeper understanding of the nature of personal and collective suffering.
This workshop will guide you to discover that in suffering we find the greatest gems of light, wisdom, love, and self. We will learn how to traverse the deeper meaning of our brokenness, through the philosophy behind the Japanese art of Kintsugi (golden joinery). Within our brokenness we learn of our sacredness, and power in healing and resilience. When we learn to honour ourselves and accept our broken past; we become stronger, more beautiful and a more precious gem than before we were broken.
This mini-workshop will be followed by an Experiential Art Therapy Session, titled "The Art of Suffering" with Beth Newman, LMFT, ATR-BC, a gifted licensed and art therapist specializing in assisting in the transformation of suffering and grief through many mediums including painting, mandalas, clay, and other natural forms. Beth has decades of experience with individuals in the area of Hospice, Palliative care and Cancer Care Centers. She is committed to the personal growth and fulfillment possible through creative expression.
Cost: $144 for both sessions
