Because of the threat of soli contamination by invasive jumping worms, the Friends of the Library are making changes to our annual Plant and Bake sale which will be held on May 28, 9:00-1:00 at the Argyle Rescue Squad on Sheridan Street. We will NOT be accepting for sale plants (trees, shrubs and perennials) dug from our gardens. The only exception will be iris corms and other root stock which are bare rooted with NO SOIL remaining on the plants. Plants with garden soil cannot be accepted. Sorry!
Instead, we will be accepting donations of the following:
---Bedding plants grown in COMMERCIAL POTTING SOIL ONLY; either plants you start at home or purchase from a garden center
---Garden bulbs
---Gardening and nature books, gardening magazines, gardening tools, planters and other garden accessories
---Packets of unused garden seed, either whole packets or partially used
---Baked goods for the bake sale (no cream cheese frosting or custard pies, please).
Donations of plants and garden supplies may be brought to the library on Friday, May 27 from 4:00-7:00PM.
Baked goods may be dropped off the morning of May 28 after 7:30am.
Other arrangements can be made, if necessary, by calling the numbers below.
