Valley Stage Productions is pleased to announce a Special Event concert with Maya de Vitry (formerly of the Stray Birds) on Thursday, May 19 beginning at 7:00 p.m. The performance will occur at the Richmond Congregational Church at 20 Church St. in Richmond. Doors are at 6:30 p.m.
Maya de Vitry's devotion to songwriting is her way of staying present, curious, and imaginative. Pennsylvania-raised and Tennessee-based, Maya de Vitry first appeared on the touring scene in 2012 as a founding member of The Stray Birds. Her third solo album, Violet Light, is an open-hearted invitation to explore the tensions between the visible and the imagined, between love and control, and our unrelenting human desire to belong—to a home, to an environment, and to each other.
Maya will be accompanied by Joel Timmons (guitars), Shelby Means (upright bass), and Dominic Billett (drums). The show will also feature an opening set – and collaborations – with special guest Alexa Rose – a North Carolina-based songwriter.
OUR COVID PROTOCOL is that we will require all staff, performers, and patrons to show proof of COVID-19 vaccine when they work or attend performances. Patrons will be asked to show their vaccination card or a photo of their vaccination card when they enter the church. A negative Covid test result within 72 hours of the concert will also be acceptable. The wearing of a mask is optional. Please respect those who choose not wear a mask.. We will also make the effort to space patrons safely within the pews.
Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 day of show. Seniors (65+) and children 16 and under are $15. For more information or to buy advance tickets please contact Don Sheldon at don@valleystage.net or by calling 802-434-4563.
