I heard about this community gathering, Calling in a Culture of Consent, happening this Saturday, May 14th, and I wanted to pass along the info for folks who may be interested in attending. Here is a bit more info:
Several anti-violence, prevention based, inclusivity-focused organizations who are everyday advocates for ending violence and uplifting voices will be gathering from 12-5pm on the VCFA College Green, Montpelier. The orgs include Mosaic Vermont, Outright VT, SafeArt, Vermont Cares, Disability Rights VT, Vermont Network, and many more. There will be workshops, discussions, and activities. Following, there will be a youth-led "Take Back the Night" March & Survivor Speakout from 5-7pm. Folks will march from the college green to the Statehouse lawn to hear survivor stories. To share your story anonymously, submit it here: https://bit.ly/anonymousstorysubmission
These orgs are doing amazing work in our community to end violence perpetuating norms. Come gather in community, get connected to resources, and hear others' stories. I hope to see you there!
