Education + Activism to Protect Medicare from Wall St.

Past event
May 23, 2022, 1 to 2 PM

Private equity firms and investors on Wall Street are feasting on Medicare by forcing seniors who chose traditional Medicare into "Accountable Care Organizations," without their will or consent. Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP) is partnering with Social Security Works to lead the charge with an Activist launch to protect Medicare; and our local chapter of PNHP is also providing a separate educational event.

The launch event is May 23 at 1 pm EST and will be less than an hour. I hope you can attend and hear from our allies and activists, as well as our Congressional leaders, and see how you can help us protect millions of seniors from the grips of private equity.

To educate about these privatization schemes, the Vermont Physicians for a National Health Program (VT PNHP) and the Community of Vermont Elders (COVE) are co-sponsoring a virtual forum Tuesday, May 10, at noon. Instead of improving Medicare by reducing deductibles or copays, creating a cap on out-of-pocket spending, or adding hearing, vision or dental, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovations (CMMI) is planning to eliminate traditional Medicare as we know it by 2030, without the consent of patients nor the approval of Congress.

You are invited to a Zoom meeting.
When: May 10, 2022 12:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
