🌼All curious minds are welcome!🌻
RSVP not required, but appreciated, anytime before the walk - this Saturday afternoon at 3PM.
Please join me - a local naturalist, botanist, and flower lover - for a walk. We will identify Barre City's native spring wildflowers along the South Barre Bike Path, and discuss how they got there and if they'll stay. You don't need to know anything about flowers to participate. We are all naturalists in our own right, so please come and share your knowledge of the natural world. Meet me at the entrance to the bike path just south of the Barre Elementary School parking lot. This is an informal event. All are welcome!

What to expect: We will meet at the entrance to the bike path, introduce ourselves, go for a light stroll, observe, discuss the bedrock, soils, and natural processes under and around the bike path, identify native and non-native flowers, and enjoy each other's company. The walk will be about 1 mile in distance on a paved surface.
Suggestions on what to wear/bring: walking shoes, hat, sunglasses, bottle of water, comfortable clothing to walk in, and a snack. Feel free to bring a notebook if you like! If you want to walk into the the woods a little, I usually can't help myself, dress to protect from ticks. I'll bring non-toxic bug spray to share if needed.
Feel free to reach out with questions. I'm happy to do more walky-talkies about nature stuff if people are interested.
