Huge Tag Sale Saturday

St. Michael's Episcopal in Brattleboro is hosting a Huge Tag Sale Saturday, May 7, 8am-2pm. To be held both indoors and outdoors (under tents) the sale will feature not only clothing for all seasons, linens, housewares, jewelry, books, sporting goods, and furniture, but also homemade food with live music by the Celtic band, Tam Lin.

"St. Michael's has been well-known for its tag sales—for great deals and good-quality merchandise, since the 1970s," organizer Liz Vick explains. "Clothing, linens, books, and housewares will be available in exchange for whatever monetary donation a customer chooses to make. The motto will be "Take what you need, give what you can!" In addition, the furniture, jewelry, and food sold will all be reasonably priced."

Proceeds from the Huge Tag Sale will be divided between two local refugee resettlement organizations, the St. Michael's Interfaith Refugee Fund and the Community Asylum Seekers Project (CASP). Both groups are actively helping individuals and families who have fled violent or other harmful situations in their home countries and who are putting down roots in the more peaceful and supportive environment of Brattleboro and surrounding towns. All donations will be directed to humanitarian effort.

Since January, approximately 100 men, women, and children from Afghanistan have come to Southern Vermont through the efforts of the Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC) in Brattleboro, and many have chosen to settle in Brattleboro. CASP is currently supporting 13 adults and children from various parts of the world who are now living in local communities.

"Shop for a good cause on Sat., May 7," Vick urges. St. Michael's Episcopal Church is located at 16 Bradley Ave, the corner of Putney Rd. in Brattleboro. The sale is handicap accessible.
