Wednesday, May 11, 6:30 p.m. Bridget Butler, The Bird Diva. "Slow Birding: Reimagining our Connection with Birds." Renowned Vermont birder introduces a new method of birding that builds a deeper understanding of the whole bird.

Wednesday, May 18th, 6:30 p.m. Rebecca Rupp. "Wolf Peaches, Poisoned Peas, and Madame Pompadour's Underwear: The Surprising History of Common Garden Vegetables." Biologist tells the stories of many of your favorite garden vegetables.

Wednesday, June 15th, 6:30 p.m. Charlie Nardozzi. "Gardening for Pollinators." Emmy award-winning garden writer, television & radio personality covers all aspects of growing a pollinator garden in the Champlain Islands.

Thursday, June 23rd, 5:00 p.m. Corey Hart, Vermont Fish & Wildlife. "Let's Go Fishing" clinic will give you hands-on experience, confidence, and skills to go fishing on your own. It's never too late to learn to fish! REGISTRATION REQUIRED, all ages, gear provided, dress appropriately, enrollment limited.

Wednesday, June 29th, 6:30 p.m. Michael Freed-Thall. Author Talk: "Horodno Burning". South Hero author presents his latest book, a love letter to literature, freedom, and Jewish survival set in turbulent 19th-century Russia.

Friday, July 15th, 6:30 p.m. Jennifer McMahon. 15th Annual Vermont Author Talk: "The Children on the Hill." New York Times best-selling Vermont author presents her latest novel, a modern horror story inspired by Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Wednesday, July 20th, 6:30 p.m. Kevin Kelsey, Vermont Fish & Wildlife. The Facility Manager of Grand Isle's Ed Weed Fish Culture Station explains how the Station enhances sportfishing & angling opportunities in the Lake Champlain Basin by producing and stocking over a million fish annually.

Wednesday, August 3rd 6:30 p.m. Prof. Thomas Durant Visser. "Memory Landscapes & Heritage Sites on the Champlain Islands." UVM professor of historic preservation explores how the surviving features of the landscapes and buildings of the Champlain Islands provide clues to the past.

Wednesday, August 17th 6:30 p.m. Katharine Montstream. "Exploring the Relationship between Art and Lake Champlain." Celebrated Vermont landscape painter Katharine Montstream shares stories of her personal journey and describes how Lake Champlain plays a year-round role in her art and life.

Wednesday, August 31st 6:30 p.m. Craig Heindel. "Geologic History and Hydrology of Lake Champlain." Geologist takes you on a tour of Lake Champlain's surprising geologic history.

Wednesday, September 21st 6:30 p.m. Carrie Brown. "The First Arsenal of Democracy: High-Tech in the Connecticut Valley 1795-1900". Local historian explores the role of the Connecticut Valley in developing late 18th-century technology that led to mass-production and the consumer culture that we know today.
