Town of Warren – Green Up Day
Green Up Day Saturday, May 7, 2022 in Warren will start at 8:30 a.m. with distribution of Green Up Day bags at the East Warren Community Market and should finish by 12:00 Noon.
Volunteers are asked to bring gloves, warm clothing, work boots, rain gear (if needed) and (if possible) their own pick-up trucks.
Green Up Day is Vermont's annual statewide volunteer Spring cleanup of trash from our roadsides and waterways. It is a fun activity for the whole family, good for the planet, and spruces up our local communities. Green Up bags available at the Warren Town Office at 42 Cemetery Road, and at East Warren Community Market at 42 Roxbury Mt. Road.
On Green Up Day, please leave your full Green Up bags on the roadsides or take them to the Earthwise Transfer Station in Waitsfield before 1:00p on that Saturday. The Warren Road Crew will pick up roadside bags and take them for disposal Monday morning, May 9th.
If you find tires or scrap metal during your Green Up Day adventures, the Mad River Resource Management Alliance (MRRMA) will collect tires and metal at no charge at the Earthwise Transfer Station in Waitsfield until 1:00p on that Saturday. They will also take car and pickup truck tires from people who want to dispose of their own tires at a charge of $5.00 per tire, with or without rims. Please take these items to the Earthwise Transfer Station.
A huge thank you in advance to everyone who helps clean up our roads, streams, soils, and views.
