The Live from The Underground (LFTU) performance series kicks off its Summer 2022 season on Thursday, May 5th at 7 pm with one of central Vermont's most talented acoustic troubadours, Sammy Blanchette, more popularly known as 'Sammy B.' His Thursday performance at The Underground in Randolph will showcase his most recent original songwriting, with songs from his two recent EPs released in 2021, "Family Ties" and "On Your Own".
A Connecticut native, Sammy B. has been delighting audiences at dozens of central Vermont venues since moving to Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, VT in 2018. In the years prior to moving to Vermont, Sammy has held down guitar and bass assignments for several regionally well-known bands including his power trio CK3, and a Led Zeppelin-inspired side project with the lead vocalist for Deep Banana Blackout called 'Jen Zeppelin'.
The Live from The Underground series, now entering its 3 rd year, will feature a new format alternating songs and interview segments with LFTU host Jamie Gage, as well as audience questions via our in-house crowd and the Internet beyond. Owner and audio engineer Vincent Freeman will once again hold down the A/V and webstreaming duties, with assistance help from Babs Mills and local interns.
In addition to performing his own original music, Sammy B. will offer insights into his songwriting process as well as the finer art of music curation, especially with regard to cover songs - of which his catalog includes hundreds.
