The Spring into Moretown Festival is tomorrow Saturday, May 31, at the Moretown School and Recreation Fields. The fun goes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with activities scheduled throughout. Here’s a list of things to do while you’re there.
ENERGY FAIR
- Check out an electric car in the school parking lot and test-drive electric-assisted bicycles.
- Tour the Home Energy Makeover trailer.
- Enjoy a free smoothie, whipped up in a blender powered by bicycles.
- Attend workshops and demos on energy efficiency at home and at work.
- Sign up for a free energy kit from Efficiency Vermont.
- Talk to more than a dozen vendors about composting, solar energy, LED lighting, insulation and more.
BIKE SALE
Buy, sell, or donate a bike at the 6th annual Valley Bike Sale. You can drop off your bike at the Moretown School on Friday, May 30 from 3 to 7 p.m. Contact mnucci@wilcoxandbarton.com for more information.
CAR WASH (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
Bring your car for a scrubbing by the Friends of the Moretown Library, and enjoy baked goods at the same time. Your donation will benefit our growing library.
LIVE MUSIC (12 to 3 p.m.)
Enjoy Moretown’s own band, “Scared by Dolls.” You may recognize a few local teachers and one mystery principal.
BARBECUE (12 to 2 p.m.)
Eat burgers and hot dogs, served up by the Moretown Fire Department.
LAWN SALE
Stop by the parsonage of the Moretown Methodist Church and check out their sale items. Moretown memorabilia will also be for sale by the historical society.
LOCAL PRODUCTS
Buy plants and local goods, brought to you by the Moretown Freshies group.
KIDS ACTIVITIES: face painting, arts and crafts, and fun on the playground.
**Parking is available at the school and the Town Hall. If you live close enough, please walk or ride!
The festival is being coordinated by the Moretown Energy Committee.
