Vermont Humanities Council May 4th First Wednesday conversation features a locally published book and Randolph native Ray Merrill

Playwright Maura Campbell wove the stories of 18 LGBTQ+ Vermonters into the recently published "Standing in This Place: Growing Up LGBTQ in Vermont". Campbell joins trans actor/school educator Ray Merrill, a Randolph native, and gay-rights activist Howdy Russell, a Hinesburg native, in a thoughtful and moving conversation about their challenges growing up LGBTQ+ in Vermont...and how these differed for Ray, from a younger generation; and Howdy, from an older generation. They will also respond to audience questions.
