The Humane Society of Chittenden County (HSCC) is going virtual for the 28th Annual Walk for the Animals & 5K Doggie Fun Run! Like many organizations in Vermont, staff shortages and the increase in local COVID cases have put significant pressure on HSCC staff and volunteers. Moving the Walk & 5K to a virtual event allows staff and volunteers to focus on the animals in care and delivering community programs, while still raising funds to support the mission of HSCC. The Walk & 5K is HSCC's biggest fundraiser of the year, and all proceeds will support and strengthen HSCC's programs and services.

The virtual Walk & 5K, is officially taking place on Sunday, June 5th , but participants and their four-legged friends may enjoy their 1 mile walk or 5K fun run from anywhere (neighborhood, favorite park, etc.) and at any time in the weeks leading up to June 5th . To connect on race day, participants are encouraged to share their race photos on social media. This year, all registrants will receive a one-of-a-kind event t-shirt and all runners will be awarded with a race medal.
