The Worcester select board is putting a new policy in place to give Worcester voters opportunity to comment on and debate the merits of individual funding requests from non-profit organizations. A “Social Concerns” committee will make recommendations for funding each organization. Worcester voters will have final control over designated amounts that the town will award each organization at Town meeting.

On 5/19/14 four townspeople joined the committee. At the next select board meeting, Monday night, 6/2/14, the board will accept additional members to join that committee.

This note is not an official posting by the select board. The present members of the social committee want to be sure you receive advance notice of this meeting in time so that you may choose to attend.
