This Sunday, May 1st at 3pm, the Pierson Library will host a wonderful music and poetry concert featuring the Vermont Symphony Orchestra Quartet and a collection of Vermont poets at the Shelburne Town Hall.
With over a decade of experience performing together across the state, violinists Kathy Andrew and Jane Kittredge, violist Ana Ruesink and cellist Dunlop partner with Vermont poets past and present in this innovative and evocative program. Each poem will be paired with a piece of string quartet music to reflect, illustrate and deepen the experience of each work. Pieces by Mendelssohn, Caroline Shaw, Piazzolla and Glazunov will be featured alongside poems by Madeleine Kunin, Chard deNiord, Julie Cadwallader-Staub, Douglas Currier and Robert Frost. Join us for a lovely hour celebrating April's National Poetry Month and the abundance of talented writers in our small state.
Funded by the Pierson Library and curated by the VSO, this concert is free. Full vaccination is encouraged, masking is optional, and capacity will be limited to 75.
