On Sunday, May 1, at 4:30 p.m., I will be presenting my 2017 photo-essay "Eli's Town" at Temple Beth Jacob, 10 Harrison Ave, Montpelier, as a fundraiser for Ukraine. Eli's Town recounts my retracing the route that my great-grandfather took in 1881 to the Ukrainian village of Ozeran, where his son, my Grandpa Eli, was born--including a search for the site of the Nazi massacre of Ozeran's remaining Jews and an interview with Olga Kvitka, the last living witness to the purging of the village.
