1. Habitat Connectivity in Bird Populations using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geolocators and The Motus Wildlife Tracking Network
Wednesday, May 18th, 2022, 7:00-8:00PM (Online Workshop)
Join Mark LaBarr, Conservation Program Manager for Audubon Vermont, to explores some of the tools ornithologists use to track and manage priority bird populations. He will draw on examples of Audubon's work with Golden-winged and Blue-winged Warblers and their hybrids that breed on the Ganley-Roper property and surrounding properties in Weybridge.

2. Habitat Connectivity in Bird Populations
Saturday, May 21th, 2022, 7:30am-10:00am (In-person workshop, limited space available)
Join Mark LaBarr, Conservation Program Manager for Audubon Vermont, for a spring bird walk and banding demonstration within the 80 acres of the Ganley-Roper land in Weybridge. Mark will highlight how this land has been managed to support priority bird species and how it connects with other properties in the vicinity. Come learn what you could do on your property, whether half an acre or 100 acres. Mark will also attempt to net and band birds during this workshop. (Attending the online workshop with Mark (on 5/18) is not required for this workshop, but highly recommended!)

3. Bird-Banding opportunity on June 4: MALT, OCAS and Mark LaBarr are excited to announce the return of their public Bird Banding program!
Join us on : Saturday June 4, from 7:30 AM – 10:30 AM at Hurd Grassland in Weybridge,VT
For all ages, RSVP required. Feel free to come and go as you please. Bird banding is a practice for tracking individual birds by attaching aluminum and colored bands to birds' legs. This non-invasive process helps scientists record their movement and migration. By tracking these birds, we can better understand what habitats they visit throughout their lifespan. Conservation organizations – including MALT and Otter Creek Audubon– can take this information into consideration when deciding where and how to protect the landscape. For more information and to register for this June 4 bird banding, go to MALT's website.

4. Seeing the Bigger Picture: The Vermont ANR Atlas for Landowners
Wednesday, June 8th, 2022, 7:00-8:00PM (Online Workshop)
Have you ever wondered how wildlife are likely to travel in the forests around you, through the Champlain Valley, and connect with a larger network of habitats across the state and region? Would you like to print out a map of your land's natural resources, or highlight your parcel within maps of the Champlain Valley or our state? In this online workshop, Monica Przyperhart will lead participants through the VT Agency of Natural Resources Atlas with an eye toward map resources and tools applicable to private landowners in the Champlain Valley.
