Local advocates are hosting Bike Month in May with a series of events in St. Johnsbury.

On May 14, the Town of St Johnsbury will be hosting the annual Bike4Life Fair at the Four Season Park on Main Street next to the Father Lively Center. Kids can register their bikes and get their own bike licenses. Free high-quality bike helmets will be distributed and fitted while they last, provided by NVRH. Link will be providing free bicycle inspections and tune ups. Blend your own bike smoothie, or try out your bike skills on the protected bike loop. The Elks Club and the Kiwanis are teaming up to provide free food from the grill, and Medina DJ services will keep the party moving. Adults can also demo an electric bicycle thanks to Lamoille Valley Bike Tours.

Interested in e-bikes? The St Johnsbury Town Energy Committee, made up of local volunteers, is co-hosting along with Link, the Traveling E-bike Lending Library from Local Motion as a component of Bike Month.

And on Sunday May 15, NEK Prosper! and the Danville Energy Committee invite you to join a Family Bike Ride between the two towns on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. The starting Point will be at the Three Rivers Pavilion, 195 Bay Street, St. Johnsbury. Parking is available at the St. Johnsbury Welcome Center. Breakfast will be served at the Pavilion at 9am, with the group ride departing at 10am. There will be lunch and celebratory activities at the Danville Train Depot at noon.
