Celebrity Storytellers are coming to locations throughout Vermont in celebration of children and families during the month of May!
Our inaugural event kicks off Sunday, May 1st, at 10:30am, with poet and former VPR Jazz Host, Reuben Jackson. Reuben will read "Brave Little Finn" by author John Churchman and will be joined by the author along with two of John's Border Collies. The reading will take place at the Old Stage on the Essex Experience Green in Essex Junction, VT. The event is FREE and family-friendly. All are invited to attend. There will be music, refreshments, and an opportunity to mingle with Reuben, John and the dogs.
Other events scheduled include:
Steve Milizia, Darryl Graham, Mounir Khouri, of 99.3 WBTV will be joined by special guest, Baseball Former Major Leaguer, Len Whitehouse, Saturday, May 21st at 10:30am at the Burlington Boys and Girls Club, 62 Oak Street, Burlington, reading "Casey At the Bat" and sharing stories with Len as well as their collection of sports memorabilia. The event is free and open to the public.
WLVB's Roland Lajoie will read "Bunny's Book Club" at the Hyde Park Lanpher Memorial Library, Monday, May 23rd at 6:30pm. Joining Roland will be his wife, artist Debbie Lajoie, who will treat the children to an interactive art project!
Additional events are scheduled throughout the month at venues around the state and via ZOOM including readings by Darren Perron, Bianca Stone, Ariel Zevon, Jamie Lee Thurston, Sarah Spencer, Reeve Lindbergh, Ron Powers, Fred Kuhr, Frank Rafferty, David Zuckerman, Beverly Little Thunder, and Jennifer Chase Alone and including Carmina Garciadealba as the Fairy Queen along with other special guests.
