The town will host a community conversation about traffic calming needs & options for reducing speeding in the vicinity of East Charlotte Village with staff from Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission and VHB Engineering & Planning Consultants. The meeting will take place on Thursday, April 28th at 6:30 pm, at the parish hall at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, at 2914 Spear St.
In response to ongoing community concern about the challenges of safe pedestrian and bicycle travel within the East Charlotte village, the Town has requested assistance from the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission and VHB, an engineering and planning consultant. They will be conducting a traffic study, to include an analysis and recommendations for potential changes to speed limits on roads approaching Baptist Corners, and evaluation of various traffic calming measures. The process starts with a public meeting to hear concerns, hopes, thoughts and questions from those who live in or near this area.
We'll have a site walk at 5:30 pm, and the discussion at 6:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you there! If you would like to know more, please contact Dean Bloch, Town Administrator, at (802) 425-3533 ext. 205.
