Firewood Processing Bee on April 30

The Craftsbury Energy Committee is in its third year of hosting another Firewood Processing Bee on Sat., 4/30, from 8:30 am - 1 pm at the Dustan Field parking lot.

We have 11 cords of log-length wood to process and deliver to those households that may not be able to afford to buy all of their firewood for next winter.

We are looking for volunteers to help cut, split, and load the wood. It was an incredible effort last November when 20 people showed up to help out! Thank You!

Thanks also to six Sterling College students and four community members who have already spent a day and made a good dent in the pile! We just need to finish it up!

Log Splitters - we are also looking to borrow log splitters. If you cannot make it that Saturday with your splitter, I could pick it up and deliver it back to your residence and be responsible for it - only fresh, non-ethanol gas, for sure!

Since we are a town-sanctioned group with liability concerns we will be practicing general safety needs.

These logs were donated by the State of Vermont through Jared Nunery, Orleans County Forester. Thanks, Jared!

Hope to see you then!
