Greensboro Historical Society invites all to a program of history and stories of local cemeteries on Sunday, April 24 at 1 PM at the Fellowship Hall of the Greensboro United Church.. From the first Greensboro burial ground in 1791 cemeteries, mark life events and tell stories about the community. Gina Jenkins will share her extensive research, including distinctive epitaphs, unusual tombstones , and stories of some of the famous people who are now permanent residents. You'll learn about the work of the Cemetery Commission, what the Vermont Old Cemetery Association does, and how to participate in a tombstone cleaning project organized by the DAR in June.
