Worldwide Demographic changes and migrations will be the focus of a session at 2 p.m., April 24, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
The program is part of a five-part series on important foreign policy issues. It is sponsored by the Bennington Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
The March 24 program will include consideration of those nations where the birthrate is below replacement, and the nation's population is becoming disproportionately aged, and well as migratory pressures, largely from less developed nations to industrial nations and from the southern hemisphere to the northern.
The US population has a good age distribution not because of the birthrate, which is below replacement levels, but because of immigration.
The Great Decisions program includes a recorded presentations by FPA scholars followed by a discussion among participants. A briefing book with material about each of the issues is available to purchase or for use at the Bennington Free Library.
The program will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 108 School St., Bennington. Proof of vaccination will be required and masks are required.
The program is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required for those who did not attend the first two sessions. For information or to register for the series, please write to AAUWBennvt@gmail.com.
