Reading GREEN UP Day - May 7th, 2022
52nd Anniversary Year!!!

Join your neighbors for this much-loved, Vermont spring clean-up tradition that activates thousands of Vermonters to get involved in their communities in picking up roadside litter. Last year, together, we picked up 421 tons of trash and over 9,000 tires! Keeping our environment clean is good for our health, good for businesses, and good for our property values. Together we build pride in our cities and towns and teach our youth about powerful civic engagement that affects climate change.
The town of Reading encourages everyone to participate – even if it is only for a short radius around your neighborhood. *Keep an eye out for green coupons redeemable for Green Up prizes!

● Green Up bags: Available at the Reading Town Hall, Watroba's General Store, and the Reading Greenhouse the last week of April.
● Sign Up: Town Hall from 8-9 AM on Saturday, May7th
● Fun Challenge: This year we will be promoting a CLEAN EVERY MILE CHALLENGE - just for a little competitive fun. We were close last year with 77.6% of all Vermont roads cleaned . Download the Green Up app to create a team challenge!
● Dispose of your Green Up trash at the Weathersfield Transfer station Saturday from 9-4 or Sunday from 12-4. **If assistance or Green Up pick up is needed, text or call me at 802-779-1407, or email Marie Anderson at mfkjanderson@gmail.com.
