Dear Neighbors,

We wanted to let you know about an important rally to express solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community - and outrage at the murder of Fern Feather in Morristown. Over the last week, the VT GOP has centered anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric in their fundraising efforts taking out ads on social media targeting specific legislators who have supported gender-affirming care for LGBTQ youth. Fern Feather's murder, and these recent political attacks have contributed to widespread fear and anxiety within our trans and LGBTQ+ community. Our hearts are with Fern Feather's family and loved ones, devastated at this senseless loss.

The rally in Essex Junction will take place at 11:30 am on Saturday, April 16th, in Five Corners (the 5-way intersection of routes 2A, 15, and 117). Social distancing and masks are encouraged due to the recent increase in COVID cases.

This rally has been organized by our colleague Representative Rey Garofano of Essex and supported by Engaged Community Members of EWSD.
