Screening Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment
This free training is being offered twice during the summer, Friday, June 10 and Friday, June 15, and is available to emergency medical personnel and law enforcement who live or work in Vermont.
Continuing education credits are available.
The two options are:

The training will introduce or refresh participants' SBIRT skills (Screening Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment).
Participants will have the opportunity to learn, observe and practice motivational interviewing skills through the use of experts and simulated patient actors. Professionals that interact with a patient at differing points in an overdose event will get the opportunity to better understand how their role fits into the continuum of services. Participants will learn how the same skills can be applied in different settings to successfully connect with patients.
