Presented at Castleton University's Casella Theater, tonight's event will encourage audience participation in a collaborative (non-messy) artistic expression, as well as a screening of Sosen Kara No Chikara.
Sosen Kara No Chikara (energy from ancestors) is a film rooted in the familial stories and perspectives of three Asian American women. Together, they explore the journey of three generations through movement – the generation who stayed, the generation who changed homes, and the generation born in America. Over time and changes in landscape and culture, ancestors continue to provide strength and bravery. This film serves as a grounding piece to connect to those that came before us. Presenting artists include Maya Kraus, Maddie Burke, Luke McGee, and Zoe Marr-Hilliard.
Tickets: $10 for adults, and $5 for seniors, faculty, staff, and alumni
Castleton Collaborative Arts was formed in 2012 by Maya Kraus. It is a place where young artists may test the waters, push boundaries and collaborate with others or with other disciplines of art. Donations are encouraged to support visiting artists, master classes, and costuming.
