May 1, 2022, 9:30 AM to 1 PM

The Race Against Racism is a state-wide annual anti-racist event, organized by youth from several Vermont high schools. The registration for the race will begin at 9:30 and will continue to the start of the rally at 10:30.

All are welcome to a public rally, curated with a spectacular list of notable speakers, performances, and live music beginning at 10:30. The goal of the event is to strengthen and amplify the crucial conversation surrounding racial justice in Vermont, and to strengthen the idea that change is now. At 11:30, an optional 5k run or walk will begin at the Montpelier High School on a scenic loop through the city of Montpelier. Runners and walkers include many high school sports teams from around Vermont, their classmates, and community members of all kinds. For the rally portion of the program there is wood-fired pizza, music, speakers, and performances. Many local social justice organizations will be promoting their work and engaging the public in political activities. There will be activities for children too!
