Dear Neighbors,
I plan to follow the tradition set by Chip Mason and will post previews of upcoming City Council meetings here.
You are welcome to attend the Council's next meeting on April 11, with open session scheduled to begin at 7:00pm. Public forum is set to take place at 7:30pm and, if you want to participate, please sign-up in person or use this link: https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/citycouncil/publicforum.
After public forum, the Council will turn to its deliberative agenda, which will include consideration of:
• An update from DPW on the Champlain Parkway project.
• A resolution which I am proudly cosponsoring, asking that the State approve a public transportation budget that will avoid service reductions and retain zero-fee bus fares in the coming fiscal year.
• The "first reading" of proposed ordinance changes for short-term rentals. These changes are being introduced by Councilor Sarah Carpenter and incorporate an amendment she and other Councilors supported when short-term rentals were recently considered. The Council will likely refer these proposed changes to the Ordinance Committee for further consideration.
• An annual report from the City Attorney's Office on the City's Livable Wage Ordinance.
The full agenda and related materials can be found here: http://www.boarddocs.com/vt/burlingtonvt/Board.nsf/Public
