Now is the time when the timberdoodle, otherwise known as the American woodcock, is busy establishing "singing grounds", individual territories where they do a spiral courtship flight at dawn and dusk.
Join Orleans County Forester Jared Nunery in East Craftsbury this coming Tuesday to learn more about this interesting bird!
We will meet at the John Woodruff Simpson Memorial Library at 7 pm for a brief talk, and then head out into the fields behind the library to see if we can hear the timberdoodle in action.
This event is free and all are welcome. Questions? Email jwsimpsonmemorial@gmail.com, or call 802-586-9692
