There will be a Fair and Impartial Policing Policy (FIPP) information meeting on April 7 at 7:00pm over Zoom, hosted by the Shelburne Fair and Impartial Policing Team and Migrant Justice.
Our goal is to update the community on our proposed changes to the Shelburne Fair and Impartial Policing Policy (FIPP) before the proposal comes before the Shelburne Select Board for a vote this month.
Our community group, with the support of over 350 Shelburne residents, is urging the Shelburne Select Board to adopt the strengthened FIPP that will close loopholes that currently allow the Shelburne Police to assist federal authorities in enforcing immigration law. Our mission is to strengthen Shelburne's existing FIPP so that everyone is treated fairly and equally. This is an important policy reform that eight other Vermont jurisdictions have already enacted, including Winooski, Burlington, Hartford, Norwich, Richmond, South Burlington, Brattleboro, and the Addison County Sheriff.
Please register by filling out this brief form, and we will send you the zoom link to join via email. Thank you!
