Born 200 years ago this month, F. L. Olmsted promoted environmentalism and the subsequent creation of the national park system. His early life here in New England greatly influenced his designs. This talk - intended for a general audience - focuses on the Emerald Necklace in MA and Shelburne Farms in VT and pays particular attention to the interests of gardeners.
Co-hosted by the Woodstock Garden Club and the Norman Williams Public Library.
