Hike up Mt. Elmore on Saturday, April 2. It is 6 miles, ascending and descending via Balanced Rock and the Ridge Trail. The trail by the old ranger cabin (fire tower trail) has ice which is treacherous at this time. The trail is not muddy, just hard packed snow and some ice. Microspikes will be needed. There are great views of the Green Mountains and also the Whites (weather permitting) from the fire tower.
