Free screening: LIKE, social media's impact on youth
Counseling Service of Addison County (CSAC) is pleased to co-sponsor a free online screening of LIKE, an Indie Flix Original documentary about the impact of social media on our lives. LIKE empowers us to find the balance between our virtual and real lives by understanding the effects of technology and social media on the brain, our lives, and civilization. The 50-minute film will be streamed to registered viewers on Wednesday, April 6, from 7-8:30 pm. A panel discussion with members of CSAC's Youth and Family Services team will follow. For more information about 'LIKE,' go to: https://www.thelikemovie.com/about/.
Registration is required; go to the event calendar at www.csac-vt.org. (Registration will be closed Wednesday, April 6 at noon.)
CSAC is pleased to be part of Vermont Care Partners' 2022 statewide screening of LIKE, just one film in an Indie Flix series focused on the well-being of today's youth. In 2021, CSAC presented Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety, a documentary exploring anxiety and depression in youngsters and teenagers, to dozens of Addison County teachers and parents. We expect this film to be equally valuable to parents and educators.
On May 4, as part of May is Mental Health Month, CSAC will host a third documentary, The Upstanders: Finding Strategies to Overcome Cyber-bullying. Watch for more details and the registration link to The Upstanders at www.csac-vt.org.
