Join a new discussion group at the Pierson Library and delve into "The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide Trying Times" by Jane Goodall and Douglas Abrams (2021)
Sessions: Wednesdays, March 30, April 6, and April 13. 7pm. In person at the library.
Free. Participant limit: 12. Staff will have copies of the book available to all participants.
The Book of Hope is full of stories and ideas worth talking about right now. Through stories of her life with chimpanzees and her work as a conservationist, Goodall shows that hope is not passive, but active, and can be cultivated.
The discussion group will be led by Kit Anderson, a Shelburne resident and retired UVM professor in the Rubenstein School, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She is a cultural geographer and ethnobotanist.
