On Saturday, April 9th, Sugarbush Resort is hosting a brand new event called Spring Fling 2022, sponsored by Ikon Pass, Coca Cola, and The North Face. The event will include a huge free afternoon concert in the Lincoln Peak Courtyard, the annual Sugarbush Pond Skimming competition, and a dedication to Win Smith, Sugarbush's former Owner and President.
The concert will feature three main artists performing from 2:00 – 7:00 PM: Chadwick Stokes from Dispatch, G Love, and DJ Logic. The resort will have a large stage setup on the north side of the Lincoln Peak Courtyard, facing up towards the Spring Fling trail. Those in the Courtyard and up on the mountain will have great views on the stage and performers. The courtyard will remain open to the public during the event.
Those who have already bought or renewed their 2022/23 Ikon Pass or Ikon Base Pass can enjoy the Ikon VIP Lounge at Rumble's Bistro and Bar. The Lounge includes drink tickets, complimentary appetizers, snacks and Coca-Cola products, premium concert viewing and giveaways from Dakine and GoPro. Cost of admission is $75 per person with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Three Peaks Medical Clinic, a non-profit medical facility planning to operate out of Sugarbush's Lincoln Peak Clinic.
An annual rite of spring, Sugarbush's Pond Skimming returns as well starting at 10:00 AM, sponsored by Mastercraft. A spectator favorite, the event is the longest continuously running pond skimming event in the country. Prizes will be given to the top three finishers in Overall Style, Biggest Splash, and Best Costume. Admission is $40 and is limited to the first 100 competitors.
Additionally, throughout the weekend the resort will be honoring Win Smith, Sugarbush's previous owner and president, who is long credited with making Sugarbush one of the premiere east coast ski destinations. Smith, who is a long-time fan and participant of Pond Skimming, will also be forerunning the event.
