The final concert in the Noon Music in May series, presented by Stowe Performing Arts, will be on Wednesday, May 28 from noon until 1 p.m. in Stowe Community Church. The Hartt String Quartet will perform an all-Dvorak program: Cypresses (originally a song cycle written for voice, and later arranged for string quartet by the composer) and the wildly popular "American" Quartet in F major, Opus 96.
The Quartet's members are on the faculty of Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford. One member is particularly well-known to music lovers in Vermont: Katherine Winterstein, concertmaster of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.
The concert is free; donations are greatly appreciated.
