Event: Jun 2, 2014, 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

BUILD YOUR OWN RAIN BARREL! Rain barrels capture water that runs off your roof and into the nearest storm drain. Capturing the water to reuse on lawns, trees, shrubs and flowerbeds reduces pollution in the local streams, helps prevent flooding, and saves money on water bills.

There will be a ‘build your own barrel’ demonstration along with discussion about other ways you can control stormwater on your property. This is free and open on a walk-in basis. If you want to build a barrel that evening, advanced registration (by May 29th) is required. The cost is $30. Space is limited to 20. All materials and tools will be provided. Be prepared to take your barrel home that evening.

Where: North Branch Nature Center, Montpelier
When: June 2nd 5:30 to 7:30
Sponsored by the Friends of the Winooski River
Register by calling 882-8276 or emailing info@winooskiriver.org
