Slip away to the "mystical isles" with an evening of Celtic music. Enjoy the traditional roots of Scottish music as we guide you through a musical history of the Jacobites. This year Green Mt. Celts will share a bit of history of the failed 1745 Jacobite Rebellion, a turning point in British history. Believing the British throne to be his birthright, Charles Edward Stuart, aka 'Bonnie Prince Charlie', planned to invade Great Britain along with his Jacobite followers and remove the Hanoverian 'usurper' George II. Although the rebellion failed, it left in its wake a treasure trove of music, both humorous and tragic.
Join the skirl of the bagpipes, the lilt of the Celtic whistles and vocals and the heartbeat of the drum as we take you on a musical history tour of a rich and defining time in Scottish history.
As the Delta and Omicron viruses have proved to be unpredictable companions again this year, we have had to make some changes in the production. First and regrettably there will be fewer musicians so that we can maintain distance and be able to perform safely.
All attendees will be required to be masked within the building.
