The USS Vermont Support Group is thrilled to welcome 12 crew members from USS Vermont on Tuesday, March 15th from 3:30 - 5:00pm at ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain. Please join us to WELCOME the Commanding Officer, Chief of the Boat, and crew members of the USS VERMONT (SSN 792), on their first visit to Vermont. This Welcome to Vermont event will begin at the Lake Champlain Navy Memorial, next to the ECHO Leahy Center on the Burlington waterfront, and the speaking portion will be held inside ECHO, where masks will be required. Commander Charles W. Phillips, III, Commanding Officer of the USS VERMONT, will report on Vermont's operations since her commissioning in April of 2020. Other speakers will include Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger, USS VERMONT Sponsor Gloria L. Valdez, and Gary Frymire from the USS Vermont Support Group.

Since the naming ceremony for the USS VERMONT in September of 2014 our namesake fast attack submarine has achieved many milestones while proudly upholding Vermont's Naval Heritage. Commander Phillips will comment on several of those milestones and share his thoughts on the outstanding performance of our submarine and her crew that has led to new precedents being set for future Virginia Class boats joining the fleet. The USS VERMONT (SSN 792) is now undergoing warranty maintenance at Electric Boat in Groton CT which provides us with the opportunity to bring our Sailors to Vermont.

We hope you will be able to join us to hear about the USS VERMONT's accomplishments and operations that have taken her —submerged — enough miles to circumnavigate the globe THREE times. You'll be reminded how our crew honors Vermont, and how Vermonters helped to build the culture on board the boat with Vermont mementos. Freedom and Unity! VERMONT!

Please email Dan@northstarleasing.com if you are planning to attend - all are welcome.
