Spring into the Moretown Freshies Farmers' Market

Hello Everyone and Happy Spring,

I'm excited to announce that some of the Freshies Farmers' Market vendors will be making their 2014 season debut at the Spring into Moretown Festival on Saturday, May 31st from 9am to 3pm.

In addition to the other Festival fun and excitement, we'll have Freshies vendors offering packaged, prepared and fresh food.

Jenna will be there, heading up the market, and selling vegetable seedlings and annual flowering plants. She will offer these at both the Spring into Moretown Festival and the first couple of Freshies Markets. All of her plants are grown from hardy seed and to organic standards in her greenhouse. She is looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!

Karen will be back as well, selling her amazing and nutritious Mountain Woman and Mountain Man bars, delicious maple syrup and wonderful herbs.

Costancia is joining us again with goat cheese and honey, and at the Spring into Moretown Festival, she'll be selling empanadas, the national Argentinian food.

And I'll be at the Festival and Freshies Markets as well, selling my fermented foods and veggies. At the Spring into Moretown Festival, I'll have different flavors of fermented veggies-- kimchi, sauerkrauts and Harvest Roots. Harvest Roots is a new blend I created last fall from, well, the roots that were available at harvest time-- beets, red cabbage, garlic, ginger, rutabaga, and daikon, just to name a few. I've got gallons of kombucha under way which will be ready in a few weeks, and who knows what else will fizz and pop in my kitchen in the meantime.

Provided I can borrow a cute little camp stove, I'll be preparing fried and scrambled eggs starting at 9am and have them available until I run out. The eggs are from our hens, who we love dearly and feed fermented organic grain and fresh food. I'll be serving them with either fermented veggies or cheese.

And the Freshies Market will be back on its regular Wednesday schedule at the Moretown School, beginning on June 4th. Come by and see the fresh, delicious and beautiful wares we have to share with the community. If you are interested in becoming a vendor with the Freshies Market, please contact Jenna Rossbach at jenna_rossbach@hotmail.com, or stop by the Spring into Moretown Festival or the Freshies Farmers' Market and talk to any of us.

Have and excellent week, and I hope to see you at the Festival!
