Join us on Saturday, 12 March 2022, for the 17th Annual Defenders vs. Enforcers Benefit Hockey Game located at the Essex Skating Facility. Doors will open at 5:00 pm and the puck drops at 6:00 pm. Price is $5, six and younger are free. Tickets can be purchased at https://dve-hockey.square.site or at the door.
This year looks to be another incredible game with some incredible hockey being played on the ice. This is a family event with 50/50 tickets, Chuck-A-Puck, a silent auction, raffle items and many give a ways. We'll also have a concession stand, compliments of the Essex High School Hornets Athletic Booster Club.
The Vermont State Police Honor Guard will present the colors and the Green Mountain Chorus will sing the National Anthem. Bag pipers from the St. Andrews Pipe Band of Vermont will also be performing. Our own Miss Vermont, Joanna Nagle, will be in attendance. A little side note: Joanna is quite the hockey player herself where she started playing youth hockey in 2002 and went on to play four years of varsity hockey at Colchester High School. VT Lake Monsters mascot, Champ with be there for the kids, young and old. A Vermont State Police K-9 team will be at the game.
There will be a five-minute Knocker Ball game during the first intermission. If you don't know what Knocker Ball is, Google it. It's a riot. Worth the price of admission itself. Essex Youth Hockey Squirts team will have a short game during the other intermission.
The proceeds will go to the Vermont National Guard Charitable Foundation and the Vermont Police Association. So, please come out for this family fun event with some exciting hockey being played as members of the Vermont National Guard take on members of the Vermont Law Enforcement community. Hope to see you there…Enjoy!
